FAQs

What do you restore?

We tell our customers that we restore everything but cars. (Actually, Robert loves restoring cars for fun but he isn’t set up to be an auto shop.) What we mostly do is restoration work on antiques, collectibles and memorabilia/automobilia. This might include a family heirloom or the cool thing a customer found while antiquing in the countryside. We work with metals and wood of all kinds, glass, plastics, stone and more. We can do just about anything, so don’t hesitate to call and tell us what you have in mind.

How much does restoration cost?

Because there’s no one-size-fits-all restoration, it’s difficult to even guess at a price for your project. Your cost will depend on what the item is that we’re restoring and how much work it needs. If we’re cleaning up and putting a fresh finish coat on something for you, it will take less time and materials – and thus, cost less – than if we have to take the item apart, recondition all the parts or even fabricate custom replacement parts. What we can promise is that, whatever the work may be, you will be amazed by how reasonable and fair our prices are.

How long does restoration take?

Again, this is tough to answer. We do all of our own labor here at the shop, but sometimes we have to order a special part or material for your project. We like to learn about your project and understand what your goals are for the finished product. From there, we can give you a good idea of the turnaround time. We promise that, whatever your restoration project may involve, we will invest the necessary time and effort to ensure you are delighted with the results.

Could you make this out of that?

Now we’re talking about the projects we love best at Vintage Restoration and Signs – we love a challenge. We have done many recycle or upcycle projects where we take a mundane object and turn it into something special for our customers. For example, we’ve turned a crank shaft into a lamp base. Although there are always exceptions to the rule, the chances are pretty darned good that we can turn your this into whatever kind of that you might like.

What kind of signage do you make?

What kind of signage do you need? We typically do a lot of vinyl lettering, car/truck wraps, trailer graphics, full-color vinyl and digital banners, dimensional signs, monument signs and ADA compliant signs. We do directional signage, aircraft and boat graphics, architectural signage, magnetic and safety signs, post and panel signs and hanging signs. We do engraved signs and sculpted metal lettering. As a part of our service, we offer professional graphic design as well as large and small format digital printing.

Do you install signs?

We can – and do – install any signage we make. We can even handle the permitting, zoning and logistical aspects of the installation. And, because we provide installation as a service to our customers, we think you will be delighted with how affordable our installation services are.

What about signage restoration?

We are a professional restoration company, after all. This means we can restore and refurbish your signage, whatever it may be, and leave it looking just like new.
